Siam Discovery – The Exploratorium, The Biggest Arena of Lifestyle Experiments, extends an invitation to ‘Come Play with Us’ that opens to boundlessly Experiment, Create and Cultivate. Siam Discovery initiates a Co-Creation & Collaboration’ project called “Future Lab Volume 4: Design Culture,” in collaboration with the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA), YUEDPAO, and ODS. The special project features Bangkok’s distinctive CI font, symbolizing the city’s identity and key landmark, creatively reimagined as an art installation spelling out “BKK” at a height of 2.40 meters. This installation turns the Pathumwan Intersection Skywalk into Thailand’s latest tourist destination. The Future Lab Volume 4: Design Culture will take place from November 27, 2024, to January 2025 at both the Pathumwan Intersection Skywalk and M Floor of Siam Discovery.

Future Lab is a space where individuals can explore their unique identities, focusing on driving creativity, individuality, and unique experiences. In its latest ‘Co-Creation & Collaboration’ project, “Future Lab Volume 4: Design Culture,” Future Lab has been transforms into an exhibition in a lab-like setting inviting participants to engage in Hyper Personalized design experiences where they can create their one-of-a-kind personalized souvenirs, blending Bangkok’s unique CI font and identity with the concept of Design Culture. This event is made possible through a collaboration with the BMA, alongside leading Thai brands Yuedpao and ODS.

Future lab Volume 4: Design Culture” offers participants, both locals and international tourists, an opportunity to Hyper Personalized their own unique keepsakes on customized T-Shirts,  using Bangkok’s CI font to create their own “edition” on Yuedpao’s high-quality T-shirts, known for their slogan, “Soft but never saggy”, with a variety of patterns and designs to choose from. This innovative approach introduces Bangkok’s identity in fresh, modern formats, showcasing the city’s culture through the power of creativity and the spirit of Bangkok with the world.

Mr. Chadchart Sittipunt, Governor of Bangkok, stated “This projects utilizes Bangkok’s official font, ‘Sao Chingcha’ which is derived from the Thai Narit script. The font is also a defining element of the city’s newly designed signage and has now been transformed into a prominent art installation. Located at the Pathumwan Intersection Skywalk, the installation features the word ‘BKK’ in the Sao Chingcha font, standing at an impressive height of 2.40 meters. This installation, alongside Bangkok’s new signage will establish the Skywalk as a new iconic landmark and tourist destination. Over 100,000 Thai and international visitors traverse daily along this Skywalk, making it an ideal platform to showcase the font’s unique character. By supporting and approving the use of the Sao Chingcha font in this special project, Bangkok Metropolitan Administration aims to expand the font’s presence. This initiative invites everyone to experience fresh and creative interpretations of Bangkok’s font and CI, offering endless possibilities for further innovation and development.”
